If you have left this toolbar, then there should still be a set of brackets in the upper left-hand corner of the second page with the words "Type Here" between them. To create a page header/running head, insert page numbers flush right. Then type "TITLE OF YOUR PAPER" in the header flush left using all capital letters. For a student paper, this only includes the page number. To insert a word count in your document, place the cursor at the point in the document where you want to insert the word count and click the “Insert” tab.
APA Style figures have the following basic components: number: The figure number (e.g., Figure 1) appears above the figure title and image in bold font. title: The figure title appears one double-spaced line below the figure number. Center author names on their own line.
To add a header and page number to the rest of the pages: Go the the second page of your paper. You can also click the Word Count button, which in Word 2007/2010/2013 can be found under the Review tab in the Proofing section: For other versions of Microsoft Word or similar programs, please search online for the appropriate instructions. Counting the number of words in an APA Style paper is easy: Count all the words in the entire paper to get the total word count. That includes the title page, abstract, main text, quotations, headings, citations, footnotes, reference list, tables, figure captions, and appendices—everything.

If there are two authors, use the word “and” between authors; if there are three or more authors, place a comma between author names and use the word “and” before the final author name. Number figures in the order in which they are mentioned in your paper.
