Communication studies or communication sciences is an academic discipline that deals with processes of human communication and behavior, patterns of communication in interpersonal relationships, social interactions and communication in different cultures. Communications & Networks The Communication and Networks group is actively engaged in cutting edge research in various areas related to information and communication technologies. Since its inception in 2000, the structure has been concentrated on European cooperation in the fields of medical, environmental, industrial, and socioeconomic research. The European Research Area (ERA) is a system of scientific research programs integrating the scientific resources of the European Union (EU). Alternatively, students might decide to take one of several immersive full-semester courses built around specific themes and research areas. It is important to note that most of our students carry out individualized programs of research that cut across these categories. Specific areas of focus include the relationship between communication and female subjectivity, from early silent films to internet-facilitated representations; the intersection of culture, the individual and the body, from the embodiment of racial and gender positions to the unfolding of childhood and aging.

Given the scarcity of wireless spectrum resources and the rising demand for mobile applications, optimizing wireless communication and improving wireless network architectures is currently one of the most important and challenging research topics in networking.
